Author: Alan Greenspan Title: Age of Turbulence Read: Spring 2008 Format: Audio Book Reviewer: bek
The Age of Turbulence is really three books. The first book is Alan's early life and his career. In the first book, you learn that Greenspan is far more interesting than just an economist. My favorite part is when Ayn Rand labeled him "The Undertaker". But as his career becomes more recent, his comments and insights on the people put in charge of our country is delightful listening. The second book is really an homage to Adam Smith and the theory of Free Markets. If you are already a believer, this part is sort of redundant. If you aren't a believer, a better course book exists with "The Commanding Heights". The third book is Greenspan predicting likely outcomes for the US in 2030. He's a great synthesizer and I enjoyed nearly all of this book.
