Author: Isabel Cruz Title: Isabel's Cantina Read: Fall 2007 Format: Text Reviewer: bek This book is deceptive. I was ready to write it off as codification of Chipotles or Qdoba, but I decided to stick with it and I found some subtle variation that I think may make it worthwhile. She blends Latin and a little Asian to come up with a cadre of mandatory ingredients.
Tomato Ginger Soup with Mint Mojo
Or this recipe for rice pudding with star anise, cinnamon, vanilla bean, and some diced mango on top.
I think the combinations work. I'd be interested in seeing her restaurants in my area.
