Author: Mark Frauenfelder Title: Rule the Web Read: Summer 2007 Format: Text Reviewer: bek This is an odd book. The site Boing Boing tries to document what is hip right now on the web. This book is an offline version of the site that produces tips that have survived their fad phase and have practical value. The book is about 400 pages and I thumbed through it about an hour. I earmarked the pages that might have an interesting tip or two. The rest of it is scattered between topics as varied as Wi-Fi detectors, not getting scammed on E-bay, how to take screen shots with your computer, and increasing your productivity by following the authors GTD inspired tips for handling email. The book has a heavy OSX bias. My favorite tips:
