I swear I had read this book in high school, but I don't think that's possible from the publishing date. Clearly, the book is about Joy Division and Ian Curtis. This is the source of the movie Control. Deborah is not a professional writer, but these memories are heartfelt and pedestrian. She describes the life of a young wife trying to set up house in England. Ian's epilepsy is more systemic from her perspective. Apparently, things were so estranged near the end that Deborah didn't hear Closer until after Ian's funeral.
