Author: Gabriel Garcia Marquez Title: Chronicle of a Death Foretold Read: Spring 2007 Format: Text Reviewer: bek I don't spend a lot of time reading fiction. When I do, I like to spend it with Gabriel Garcia Marquez. This is a short story of sorts. A man returns to a Carribean village to put together the fragments of truth about a murder 27 years ago. As he collects the perspectives, the full story is slowly revealed and the entire town is involved. My favorite sentence: Then they both kept on knifing him against the door with alternate and easy stabs, floating in the dazzling backwater they had found on the other side of fear.
