Props to Alton Brown for taking his celebrity and paycheck from the Food Network and doing something he wants to do - ride his motorcycle from the Gulf of Mexico to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota along the Mississippi river. Brown also comments on the food along the way. However, he probably didn't realize before starting that the south is secretive about food, so even this great food reductionist has to guess at recipes that people aren't going to share with him. There are plenty of eccentric folk, regular folk, and eating, but all in all, sort of dull.
