Mario Batali 4-Quart Risotto Pan

In my house, the Creuset pans are held in esteem. I have a few pans I use for carnitas or roast chicken. This year, I received a gift certificate to Sur La Table for Christmas. This risotto pan caught my eye. It's a great shape and striking color. Like the Creuset, this is enameled cast iron. Enameled cast iron is good for keeping in shape. This pan weighs more than ten pounds. I like the size. However, in using the pan, I have two caveats. The sauce pan handle conducts heat and can be hot to handle. The lid handle is also metal. It also conducts heat. This is unlike the Creuset.
