Automator Actions

Despite having a well intentioned automaton for an icon, I hadn't bonded with Automator. That's changing slightly as I realized one of my big hang ups was being handled differently in Appleland (tm). I was looking for a dialog box feature in Automator to make my scripts more general and usable for different situations. I could never find one. I wasn't looking in the right place. The key is to make certain steps in your scripts visible. Then, you get OSX dialog box interaction and a longer lived script.

A resizer and an icon generator. These are screenshots of Automator if you would rather do them yourself. They are easy to recreate.

Try out the Apple cli "sips" - it is pretty interesting.

Automator lets you build plugins to various Apple applications. These two are destined for the finder. When you build them for the finder, they get put in your Library folder. You can move them the computer's library folder if that makes sense for you.

Using them in the finder.
