Experiments in HDR
I'm not a professional photographer and I doubt I will be, but this will document my attempts at experimenting with High Dyanmic Range photography. HDR tries to correct assumptions in most digital cameras. Briefly, different photographs of a still source are taken with the digital camera and are then combined in an image processing software to form one image.

Getting Started
How I got started: O'Reilly Shortcuts. The shortcuts document wasn't exactly groundbreaking, but I found myself with slightly higher commitment to reading the document (I paid for it) and I could print the PDF and read it on the train (vs a Web Site). In the end, I'm sure there are other ways to learn and I hope this documentation will help others looking to get started.

Core Image Fun House
It dawned on me that no expensive software may be needed to do HDR processing. I've been using Core Image Fun House that comes free with every Mac. You'll need to install the developer tools to get this demonstration application. It doesn't include any fancy wizards or auto correcting of image drift, but it is free. I don't have any hard, fast rules on using CIFH for HDR yet, but since most of this is digital experimentation, there is no harm in trying.

Fun with Photoshop
I did the first two HDR compositions in Photoshop. Now it fails to complete the merge operation and closes all files in use. Neat.

I opened a ticket with Adobe. They got back with me in 72 hours (not 24 like they promise). The response was simply to delete my preferences and try again. That seems to have worked. New photos being posted.
