Pavillion Shade

The Pavillion project was completed a while ago. This year, I was disappointed that even with the overhead structure, there were several hours during the day where the pavillion was too hot to be useful. This wasn't much of a project, but an idea. I went to Big Lots and picked up 72x72 inch shades. The pavillion is neatly divisible into sections that are roughly 72x72. I secured each pair facing the center of the pavillion. I then attached some canvas straps as handles. With the handles, I simply pull the shades out from the center and provide each quadrant with shade. At night, I pull the shades to the center of the pavillion and the roof is opened up for the night sky.
