| GraphViz takes well formed text files and generates graphs from them. The well formed format is known as a DOT file. This is a very clever system. Text tools and shell scripts can be used to create the source file and it can be rendered through free clients on nearly every platform. What makes the system even better than simply escaping the pains of Visio is that you can diff two different DOT files and find the changes in the pictures. |
